Shri Surinder Singh Kohli

Shri S S Kohli is a graduate in Mechanical Engg. from BHU, CAIIB
He has rich experience as a banker, spanning over 40 years having held positions of Chairman & MD of Punjab and Sind Bank, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and Punjab National Bank (PNB).
He was the Chairman & MD of India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL), a wholly owned company of the Government of India, engaged in promotion and development of infrastructure till April 2010. Under his leadership, IIFCL commenced its operations and carved a niche for itself in financing infrastructure projects. The support of IIFCL helped in speedier achievement of financial closure of infrastructure projects in sectors like highways, airports, seaports, power, etc. IIFCL was conferred with the “Most Admired Infrastructure Financier 2010” by KPMG-Infrastructure Today.
During his Chairmanship at PNB, he undertook complete transformation of Banking operations making it a Techno-savvy bank by implementing core banking solutions and introducing various technology-based products and services. Resultantly, PNB became the #1 bank among the nationalized banks in terms of Assets, Asset quality, Technology, PAT and Return on assets. PNB also emerged as one of India’s Most Trusted Brands and the PNB Group floated three public offerings of capital during his tenure which were highly successful.
Shri S.S. Kohli held the chairmanship of Indian Banks’ Association, a forum for promoting the interest of banks for two terms and was member of several committees associated with financial sector policy/ies. The committees he chaired dealt with a variety of issues relating to small/medium enterprise financing, willful default in loans, Human Resources Development in the banking industry and reconstruction of distressed small industries etc.
A recipient of several awards including the “Enterprise Transformation Award for Technology” by the Wharton-Infosys Limited, the “ Bank of the Year Award” by the Banker’s Magazine of Financial Times, London for the year 2000, and also ranked 22nd in the list of India’s Best CEOs ranking over the period 1995 to 2011, by the Harvard Business Review recently. He now holds directorship in various institutions in India.
Dr. Vijayalakshmy Gupta

Dr. Vijayalakshmy Gupta is a retired Secretary Defence Finance & Former Member-TRAI.
She did her MPhill (Gold Medalist) from University of Madras in 1999 and PhD from Barkatullah University, Bhopal in 2010.
She started her career as Indian Defence Accounts Service Officer in 1974. She has rich experience in Finance, Internal Audit, Accounts and General Administration.
She has served at various key positions during her career including:
i. Joint Secretary and Additional Financial Advisor, Ministry of Defence, Government of India,
ii. Principal Advisor/Financial Advisor, Organizing Committee, Commonwealth Games 2010,
iii. Additional Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India,
iv. Member Finance (Telecom Commission and ex officio Secretary to the Government of India) and
v. Secretary-Defence Finance (Ministry of Defence, Government of India)
Dr. Ajit Keshav Ranade

Dr. Ajit Keshav Ranade is an economist & political analyst based out of Mumbai..
He is PhD in Economics from Brown University and B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Mumbai where he was awarded as distinguished alumunus. He is also an alumnus of IIM, Ahmedabad. He has been a Professor at ICRIER, New Delhi and Assistant Professor at IGIDR, Mumbai. He was the Chief Economist of the Aditya Birla Group & ABN AMRO Bank.
He was Government of India's nominee as Independent Director of Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd., from September 22, 2007 to April 1, 2010. He has served on various committees of the Reserve Bank of India, including the Committee on Fuller Capital Account Convertibility and the committee to review FEMA for Individuals. He is a member of the National Executive Committee of FICCI and Economic Policy Council of CII. He chairs the Research Advisory Panel of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. He is a member of the Board of Governors at IIT Mumbai.
He is columnist with Mumbai Mirror. He also writes at First Post, Business Standard, IBN Live and The Economic Times. He has authored several books, namely Life Insurance in India: Emerging Issues, Three Questions about Insurance Liberalisation, Maharashtra's EGS: Regional Patterns, Scope for Reforms and Replication. He is a co-founder and trustee of Association for Democratic Reforms which is an Indian civil society group vying for transparency in the politics of India.
Shri Anjani Kumar Sharma

Shri Anjani Kumar Sharma is a Chartered Accountant with vast experience in Audit, Tax and Advisory of Corporate and NPO’s.
Shri Sharma is a partner with Bhawani Sharma & Co. Chartered Accountants (35 year old CA firm). He possesses rich hands on experience and has worked with numerous Corporates Clients in various capacities.
His clients include names like ISCKON, HHI. CASA, Water.org, Change.org. Upaya Social Venture, Samhita Social Venture, A R Rahman Foundation, EHA, EFI, Dr. Reddy Foundation, Essar Foundation, Narayan Hridualaya, Asia Heart Foundation, SITI, Khabar Lahariya, TDH Germany, Scottis Love in Action, Stop Hunger Now, Good CSR Foundation, Goonj & Compassion International.
He is also a member of the Task force for NPO Committee of ICAI. He is the National convener of FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) issues (CCONPOICAI) and has been nominated as an expert by ICAI to partner with the Ministry of Home Affairs FCRA department to help them with their outreach programs.
He is visiting faculty with ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) and has trained more than 5000 Chartered Accountants in the last 5 years on various subjects and was adjudged the best faculty by NIRC-ICAI earlier in the year 2015.
Shri Virendra Singh Verma

Former Member and Chairman CERC, Member CEA & Director General ,Bureau of Energy Effeciency India
Shri V.S. Verma has a degree in Bachelor of Science from Agra University followed by BE Mechanical (Hons) and ME Mechanical (Hons) in Applied Thermal Sciences from IIT Roorkee. He has also been trained under UNDP, with CEGB, UK and Gilbert Commonwealth of USA.
He started his career in the Central Power Engineering Service (CPES 1971 batch) in Central Electricity Authority (CEA) and was appointed as Member (Planning) in Central Electricity Authority in the year 2002. He was the Director General of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) for three years and Member (Hydro) in CEA for a year.
In his long standing career of over 44 years in the power sector Shri Verma acquired wide and valuable experience in the field of Planning, thermal and Hydro power plant engineering, project monitoring, construction, supervision, operation monitoring, human resource development, grid operations, conservation and efficiency, low carbon growth strategy and other environmental issues.
Shri Verma has been associated extensively in the policy formulation by the Government and specially after the enactment of Electricity Act 2003. Shri Verma had, while in CEA, also headed various divisions dealing with fuel management, research and development, Human Resource Development and Management, and IT in the Power sector. He was responsible for the 17th electric power survey as a Chairman of the Committee and the 11th plan Planning document as the Member Secretary of the working group appointed by the then Planning Commission. Planning for the power sector was the main responsibility of Shri Verma as Member Planning CEA.
Shri Verma as Member Secretary of the Eastern Regional Electricity Board (New ERPC) was responsible for the coordinated grid operation to maintain the quality of electricity in the Eastern Region of the Country in the year 1997-98 and dealt with Optimization of Generation and transmission capacities, inter-state and inter-regional exchange of energy, generation scheduling and accounting etc.
He was responsible for setting up of the Hotline Training Centre at its new location while holding the charge of Chief Engineer (Human Resource Development and Training) in CEA. The Power System Training Institute at Bangalore was operating under his charge.
As Director General of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency the various initiatives were taken under his leadership to promote energy conservation, standards and labelling programme, energy efficiency in the various sectors of industry in the Country and for promoting CDM mechanism in the power and industrial sector in the Country. Shri Verma had in the past headed various Committees set up by the Government of India to make recommendations in relation to different aspects of Power sector including Renewable Resources of Energy, Low Carbon Growth in power sector, adoption of Supercritical Technology in India, the next higher size of thermal generator to be adopted after 200/210 MW, IGCC, Co-generation etc.
The Working Group on National Action Plan for Climate Change under the National Mission of Enhanced Energy Efficiency,' Task Force of formulation of the action plan for development of energy sector in the North Eastern Region, Expert Committee appointed by MNRE to study the geo-thermal based power generating potential in the Puga geo-thermal fields of Ladakh, J and K, Working Group of research and development of energy sector for 11th plan, were set up under his chairmanship. Shri Verma played a lead role in 50,000MW of hydro power initiative announced by the Hon'ble Prime Minister in 2004. Credit of publication of CO2 Baseline data in the Indian power sector first time in the world goes to him. Mapping of thermal power stations in the country for optimizing the efficiency of operation were spearheaded by him. The setting up of Excellence Enhancement Centre in the Power Sector is his brain wave.
As the Member and Chairman of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) Shri Verma was involved in his role for fixation of bulk tariff of electricity, making various Regulations including those of Renewable Energy, Renewable Energy Certificate Mechanism, Development of the power markets, grid discipline and interstate flow of power and resolving disputes on various matters pertaining to inter- state flow of power. Shri Verma was responsible for the current operational frequency standards of 49.9 to 50.05 Hz.
Shri Verma has travelled extensively overseas making professional/official visits to USA, Canada, Europe, UK, Poland, Belgium, Germany, USSR, Asia Vietnam, Africa Kenya, Guyana and Nigeria, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. To his credit he has more than 50 technical papers published and presented in the national and international forums.
Shri Verma has also been on Governing Council/Board of Directors of various institutions like CPRI, NPTI, C Wet, DVC etc. Shri Verma received Life Time Achievement Award from CBIP and from Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, Bhopal. He was also awarded Leading Energy Personality Award 2014 in November 2014 from Council of Power Utilities. He was also awarded Distinguished Alumni Award of IIT Roorkee. He is now Professor Adjunct for IIT Kanpur. He is a distinguished professor at Central Power Research Institute in Bangalore, India reviewing the research projects in the power sector. the issues relating to the power sector in the Power Sector. He is also a visiting professor at IIT Kanpur as Adjunct Faculty. Shri Verma is advising Govt of Rajasthan for improving their Distribution System of electricity in general including generation and transmission

Shri Punit Narendra Garg is a qualified Engineer.
He is part of senior management team of Reliance Group since 2001 and is involved in taking a number of strategic decisions.
Currently, Shri Garg is serving as Executive Director and CEO of Reliance Infrastructure Limited.
Shri Garg has previously served as an Executive Director on the Board of Reliance Communications Limited. With rich experience of over 34 years, Shri Garg has created and led billion dollar businesses.
As a visionary, strategist and team builder he has driven profitable growth through innovation and operational excellence.
Shri Amal
Sinha

Shri Amal Sinha is a Graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, a Chartered Accountant and a Cost Accountant by qualification.
He is having rich experience of about 35 years in power distribution, manufacturing and service sector with expertise in Power Distribution business, Regulatory/Legal Affairs, Corporate Finance, Financial Restructuring and Fund Raising, Strategy Planning, Budgetary and Financial Controls and Audits.
Shri Sinha has worked with L and T and Escorts Group, BSES Rajdhani Power Limited and Reliance Infrastructure Limited at various senior level positions. Currently, he is also Director on the Board Utility Powertech Limited.
He is associated with the Company since 2006 managing the financial, strategic, legal and corporate affairs of the company.
Further, during his tenure as CEO, Shri Sinha confidently met all the challenges even during the peak summers of Delhi because of his experience with the company, his administrative abilities and his proactive approach. Under his able leadership the Company has been able to satisfy all the stakeholders such as DERC, Delhi Government, DPCL, Power ministry etc.
