5568 cases resolved on-the-spot

in seven consecutive Saturdays

Only 39 out of every 10,000 consumers walked in with a request

Seven consecutive Saturdays and over 5567 BSES consumers find solution to their grievances.   The company’s decision to hold every Saturday as Consumer Day, since July 16, 2005, has helped in successfully resolving consumers’ grievances.  

BSES endeavours to provide on the spot resolution to as many consumers as possible.   Of the 8950 complainants, 5370 were customers of BSES Rajdhani Power Limited and 3580 were customers of BSES Yamuna Power Limited.  

On the spot resolution was provided to 2089 requests received by BRPL and 3478 requests received by BYPL. Interestingly, over eighty two per cent of the grievances related to billing were resolved on-the-spot.  

3382 cases pertained to complicated issues and requests for new connection which were given a stipulated deadline for the resolution of their case.  

BSES Rajdhani Power Limited with a consumer base of nearly 12.4 lakh consumers received requests from only 0.28 per cent of its consumers whereas BSES Yamuna Power Limited with a consumer base of 10.6 lakh consumers received requests from 0.5 percent of its consumers.  

According to a BSES spokesperson, “The rationale behind Saturdays being announced as ‘Consumer Day’ was to provide a single point where consumers could find resolution to any and every kind of grievance.   We request consumers to avail of this facility and find solution to their grievances.”  

BSES intends to continue with this initiative as it is determined to ensure the satisfaction of every BSES consumer.
