Two contract employees indulging in extortion expelled by BSES
Acting on a tip-off received on the 24x7 anti-corruption helpline (39999777), BSES terminated the services of two of its contract employees after they were found to be indulging in extortion.
After receiving the tip-off BSES Vigilance team apprehended two individuals in Shakarpur with certain official documents in their possession. These individuals - Ravi Kumar & Naresh Kumar - were identified as employees of M/s Flexione. The apprehended individuals were put through a session of sustained interrogation by the BSES Vigilance team. The interrogation resulted in the individuals confessing to indulging in extortion. The individuals confessed to threatening consumers to pay around Rs. 400-500 in exchange for favorable reports in cases relating to temporary/permanent disconnection. It was also found that Ravi Kumar had been using a fake BSES identity card under the name of Rajkumar. The identity cards of both Ravi Kumar & Naresh Kumar have been withdrawn and their services have been terminated.
