INCREASE IN TARIFF FOR DOMESTIC AND AGRICULTURE CONSUMERS TO BE ADJUSTED IN ELECTRICITY BILLS

BSES and NDPL today jointly announced that as per the approval of DERC, increase in the electricity Tariff effective from 15th July 2005 in respect of Domestic Consumers shall be neutralized equally by way of GoNCTD Subsidy and Discom Adjustment. Similarly increase in Tariff for Agriculture Consumers shall be fully neutralized by way of GoNCTD Subsidy.  

This adjustment in respect of Domestic Consumers and Agriculture Consumers shall be applicable w.e.f. 15th July 2005 for a period of one year or the effective date of the next Tariff Order of DERC which ever is earlier. This GoNCTD Subsidy and Discom Adjustment will start getting reflected in electricity bills having due dates after 1st November 2005.  

The amount which has already been paid by Domestic and Agriculture Consumers towards enhanced Tariff for the period after 15th July 2005 will be adjusted in the electricity bills now being sent having due date after 1st November 2005.
