Press Release
Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF) dismisses complaint against Electronic Meters
BSES Electronic meter yet again found to be ACCURATE
A complaint against "Electronic Meters' was dismissed by the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF) in the now well known 'Satya Pal Nanda Vs BSES Yamuna Power Limited' case.
Satya Pal Nanda, the complainant, had approached the CGRF alleging that the new Kaifa-make Electronic Meter installed by BSES was running fast and demanded that the same be replaced with the old electro-mechanical meter. He was also not satisfied wit the tests of accuracy carried out on his 'Electronic Meter' by BSES.
Taking cognizance of the complaint, the CGRF directed BSES to conduct a simultaneous test of its Electronic Meter as well as a test of a pilot Electronic Meter of another make. It was directed that the accuracy tests be conducted in the presence of the consumer for 15 days, both by Central Power Research Institute and through Aqua Check.
BSES complied with the CGRF directive and the consumption pattern recorded by both the Electronic Meters was similar and well within the permissible limits. The consumer, subsequently, told the CGRF that he was satisfied with the tests. He also withdrew his complaint against BSES.
The CGRF then dropped all proceedings against BSES. This case yet again goes on to prove the accuracy of the electronic meters installed by BSES.”
BSES, Delhi's premier power distribution company, is committed to ensuring quality and reliable electricity supply to all its consumers.
