BSES appeals to its customers to use electricity judiciously


According to some reports, the first four months have been the hottest on record in the last 100 years in North India and if this trend continues, 2010 could be the warmest year is history. At 45.4 degrees on May 17, it was the hottest day of May in eight years.


The National Capital created history yesterday, when its electricity demand touched 4581 MW, its highest ever, and was successfully met at 2:52 pm. The highest demand met last year was 4408 MW on July 8, 2009. Moreover, the highest demand met during the month of May 2009 was 4136 MW.


Delhi’s power demand has grown by a whopping 13.64% since May 10, 2010.

It is pertinent to mention that Delhi’s per capita electricity consumption of 1265 Units /annum, is more than double of the national average of 606 units/ annum


BRPL and BYPL CEO’s congratulated their Operations and Maintenance teams for successfully meeting the power demand of around 3000 MW in their licensed areas.


BRPL and BYPL also appeal to their customers to enhance their sanctioned load in tandem with their increased electricity consumption. This will ensure better supply and fewer breakdowns.


Though BRPL and BYPL have made adequate arrangements for power, they appeal to their over 25 lakh customers to use electricity judiciously. This will not only help conserve electricity, but also save money for the consumers in the process. Some simply every-day tips are:
