paying one’s routine utility bills can put a strain on the environment? Driving
to the ‘nearest’ drop box, ATM, Bank, division/branch office not only wastes
precious and ‘expensive’ fuel but emissions from the exhausts contribute
harmful gasses to the environment. Both of these things can be easily avoided
by simply paying online –and that too form the comfort of ones home and offices
- as lakhs of (and counting) BSES customers have discovered.
Between January 2008 and 09, over 8 lakh (and
counting) BSES customers paid their electricity bills online through the
company’s customer friendly and ultra secure web site www.bsesdelhi.com. These transactions using Net Banking / Credit Card and ITZ Cards
cumulatively netted around Rs 170 crore. Of these, nearly 3 lakh customers paid
using the Net Banking / Credit Card option and over 5.5 lakh using ITZ Cards.
