BSES’ web site a convenient way to pay bills

Over 8 lakh ‘Green’ customers collectively pay around Rs 170 crore through www.bsesdelhi.com

These transactions using Net Banking / Credit Card and ITZ Cards cumulatively netted around Rs 170 crore. Of these, nearly 3 lakh customers paid using the Net Banking / Credit Card option and over 5.5 lakh using ITZ Cards. “This shows the increasing confidence customers have in BSES’ web site”, said a BSES official.

 

Online payments are growing in India at an impressive rate. Infact, The trend of E-billing is fast catching up in the metros with average households saving up to 80 hours in a year”, says a recent study on "e-Billing - a better option for convenience" carried out by Assocham. The study further sates that the e-billing business is growing by 200% and is likely to triple by 2009. Another finding of the report was that Mumbai had taken the lead in e-billing since 28% of its population availed of e-billing transactions followed by 22% of Delhi, 12.5% of Chennai and 12% of Bangalore”.

According to a BSES spokesperson, “Online payment of BSES bills, besides offering a secure payment option also offer convenience, control, trust, privacy, and improved record-keeping. BSES urges more and more of its customers to pay their bills online and make better use of their spare time”.
