BSES catches tout at Karkardooma

   

With the help of a consumer, BSES recently caught a tout at its Karkardooma division office and handed him over to the police.   The tout has been identified as Shiv Kumar, resident of Bhola Nath Nagar, Shahdara.  

The tout was demanding a sum of Rs 1,000 from the consumer for getting his meter shifted by private personnel.   The tout was immediately detained by the officials upon tip off from the consumer and was handed over to the police.   A formal complaint has been lodged against the tout at the Anand Vihar police station.   A bunch of papers were recovered from his possession including application forms, bills etc.   These were also handed over to the Police.

BSES, as a proactive measure, is alerting its consumers of touts and requests them to inform of any illegal activity on the special helpline number -39999777- to curtail illegal activities carried out by touts.   Any consumer who is being harassed by touts or any other person should immediately lodge a complaint at the helpline number or approach their respective division office for solving these issues.

BSES spokesperson said, “We have taken up this issue seriously and will deal with such cases severely and if required, take legal action against them.   We request our consumers to use the helpline and lodge complaints so that we can reduce this menace.”
