Press Release
BSES releases four months (June-September) easy to read and customer friendly loadshedding schedule
The peak power demand touched the figure of 3725 MW – in the month of May itself. The demand in the coming weeks is expected to easily cross the figure of 3900 MW. And there may not be enough power in the Northern Grid to meet the demand. . The issue is further compounded by over-drawing of electricity by some neighboring states –which leads to a dip in frequency levels.
In such a situation, the frequency levels fall to dangerous levels – point where the distribution system has no alternative but to resort to loadshedding, till the frequency levels stabilizes to a healthy point. BSES resorts to load-shedding on advice of the Delhi State Load Dispatch Centre, who in turn is advised by Northern Region Load Dispatch Centre (NRLDC).
Based on customer feedback and convenience, BSES, today released its four months (June – September) load shedding schedule. Prepared in an easy to read and a customer friendly format, the schedule is in form of a 12 page handy booklet (separate for BYPL and BRPL). The multi colour, June to September schedule gives greater detail of areas – more than the previous May schedule.
The four months schedule will greatly help the consumers plan their day and negate their need to wait for the schedule every month. This schedule, like the May schedule will largely eliminate the need for the consumers to repeatedly call our 24 x 7 helpline numbers or their local offices.
Although BSES will endeavor to strictly adhere to the load shedding schedule, but the loadshedding may increase or decrease, depending upon the availability of power for distribution.
In view of the grim power situation, BSES appeals to its customers to conserve electricity and adopt the habit of switching off electrical equipments in order to overcome the crisis. The schedule also gives, its customers, handy energy saving tips that will not only go a long way in conserving energy, but also save money.
BSES, Delhi’s premier power distribution company, is committed to ensuring quality and reliable electricity supply to all its consumers.
