Commonwealth Games 2010: Mayur Vihar gets a World-Class Customer Care Centre



Looking at the importance East Delhi and the area around Mayur Vihar will play during the Commonwealth Games, BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL), is busy giving the finishing touches to its infrastructure upgradation program in its licensed area. The latest in this is the inauguration of its newly renovated Customer Care Centre for Mayur Vihar I and II– bringing it at par with its international counterparts in the West.


In a simple ceremony today, the Customer Care Centre was dedicated by BYPL CEO Mr Ramesh Narayanan, to the over 5 lakh residents of Mayur Vihar I and II.


The customer care centre has many customer friendly features, benchmarked, against the finest international practices like single windows system to address commercial, billing and metering queries and requests – under one roof. Besides these, the centre also has many customer friendly features like an automatic ATM Type Bill Payment Kiosk, where customers can make payment of their BSES electricity bills through both cheques and demand drafts.


Styled as per international specifications, this newly renovated customer care centre – catering to around 1 lakh consumers in Mayur Vihar I and II - also has Help Desks and Cash Counters. The highly-trained staff manning the customer care centre has undergone extensive training on various customer interaction modules. They will be able to resolve the customer complaints in an efficient manner”, said a BYPL official.


Further, a full-time Customer Care Officer (CCO) has also been stationed here. Even the area’s Business Manager and Commercial Officer will be operating from here. Customers can meet them in case of any issue.


While inaugurating the Customer Care Centre, BYPL CEO, Ramesh Narayanan, thanked the residents for their cooperation in reducing power theft in the area. He also assured the residents that they will receive the same international standard power supply as the guests / residents at the Commonwealth Games Village.

According to a BYPL spokesperson, “It is prudent to mention that from the business perspective, BYPL’ Mayur Vihar I and II division is amongst the company’s top three divisions. That’s not all. During the month of May 2010 alone, the division added 500 new customers. Moreover, 100% of the meters in this division are electronic”.
