BSES employees voluntarily donate 125 units of Blood

Blood Donation Camp organised in association with Indian Red Cross Society

BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL), in association with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), organized three voluntary Blood Donation camps for their employees today. These camps, organized at BSES offices in Nehru Place, Janakpuri and Karkardooma were held as BSES’ CSR initiatives on the occasion of Shri Dhirubhai H Ambani’s 8th death anniversary.

The Blood Donation Camps saw an overwhelming response from employees. A total of 125 employees – across departments and hierarchy – came forward and donated one unit of blood each. A total of 125 units of blood was donated.

The entire paraphernalia for the Blood Camp, including trained doctors was provided by the Indian Red Cross Society. All BSES blood donor volunteers were issued IRCS donor cards

There is no substitute for blood – the lifeline of human existence. There is always a dearth of useable blood. According to studies, at 29%, Delhi ranks one of the lowest voluntary blood donation percentages in the country.

According to a BSES spokesperson, “Safe blood saves millions of lives each year. It has been shown all over the world that regular, voluntary, non-remunerated blood donation by low-risk donors is the key to saving lives. We hope such initiatives, albeit small, will go the distance to alleviate this shortage. We also appeals to customers to come forward and donate blood”

"Our BSES team members have always readily volunteered to donate blood. We are happy to see that every year the number of volunteers who donated blood in BSES keeps rising. We urge all our customers too to step forward and donate blood whenever possible”, added the spokesperson.

BSES, Delhi’s premier power distribution company, is committed to ensuring quality and reliable electricity supply to all its consumers.
