BSES has joined the movement to “Green Delhi” by setting up for itself an ambitious target of planting over 2000 saplings in a week-long drive, beginning today.

All the 2000 saplings would be planted in and around the area owned by the company’s 33 divisional offices as well as its five employee housing colonies.
The Van Mahotsav drive would culminate on Sunday 17 July 2005 when scores of saplings would be planted by important dignitaries at BSES’s Urja Vihar employees housing complex in East Delhi.
The saplings have been procured from the Delhi Forest Department and comprise mostly Neem, Gulmohar, Laburnum, Jamun (Eugenia Jambolana), Sheesham, Poplar, Ashoka, Peepal and Harsingar .
Commenting on the tree plantation drive, a BSES spokesperson said, “BSES strongly believes in protecting the environment and with the ideal season for tree planting at hand, planting 2000 saplings will help BSES to join hands with the citizens of Delhi to promote a clean and green Delhi.”
