Press Release
BSES invests Rs Five crore to refurbish & augment
33KV Motia Khan Grid Sub Station
In keeping with its commitment to the residents of Central Delhi, BSES today rededicated the revamped 33KV Motia Khan Grid substation to the residents of Paharganj and Motia Khan.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Sh Haroon Yusuf, said, “I am sure, with the up- gradation of this grid, the residents will enjoy better power supply. I congratulate BSES for this excellent effort towards improving the power situation in Delhi”.
In view of the increased energy requirements in these areas, BSES has spent nearly Rs five crores in augmenting and upgrading the entire grid station with two power transformers of 16MVA to 20MVA capacity and replacing the existing 11KV XLPE cables between Motia Khan and Aram Bagh sub station, a route of five kilometers and between Motia Khan to D-block, a route of three kilometers.
The grid has two new 33 KV circuit breakers for which 10 kilometers of new XLPE cable from Park Street to Motia Khan Grid was installed. The existing 11KV 350 MVA capacity switch gear panels were replaced with 500 MVA capacity 28 panel boards, employing more advanced maintenance free vacuum circuit breakers instead of the oil circuit breakers used in pre-privatization era.
Besides this, two SCADA control system panels are also being installed and will be soon energized to enable remote monitoring of the grid. With this, BSES has utilized the latest technology available for protection and control of the system.
The grid will primarily cater to the demands of Mandir Marg, Aaram Bagh, Jhandewalan Block C & E, Sarai Khaleel, Motia Khan D-Block, Ram Nagar, Sadar Cloth Market, Paharganj Dispensary, Police Quarters, Bagichi Alauddin, 6 Tooti and Idgah.
