Citizen Groups participating in the 91st Bhagidari Workshop (17-19 December) organized at the Delhi Secretariat for revenue districts of East and North East districts by Delhi Government’s Bhagidari Cell, have once again voted BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) as the best civic agency in the area. With this latest accomplishment, BYPL has scored a hat trick – getting voted as the best civic agency in the last three consecutive Bhagidari meets.

Of all the civic agencies that participated in the workshop including “Electricity and Power”, MCD, Delhi Jal Board, Transport and Delhi Police, a majority or about 250 odd participants gave positive feedback about BYPL.

The Hon’ble Chief of Delhi Smt Sheila Dikshit attended both the opening and closing sessions of the workshop.

During his address to the Bhagidari participants, Mr Narayanan also announced that BYPL has started a new initiative for people belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in East and Central Delhi areas. Under the initiative, the company is setting up camps to provide new connections within 48 hours and in installments to the residents of earmarked unauthorized colonies and JJ colonies.

Mr Ramesh Narayanan, CEO BYPL, in his presentation said, "Just as we all keep a thermometer at home, we should also keep a power tester at home and periodically check that our electrical appliance are safe for use." Mr. Narayanan also stressed that customers can reduce carbon footprint and traffic congestion on Delhi roads by making use of BSES’ "Door Step Service and use of  various billing facilities available on BSES’ website www.bsesdelhi.com.

This positive feedback is not confined to BYPL areas only. In the previous Bhagidari meeting organized for South and South West area, over 65% of the participants had given a positive feedback about BRPL. “We are happy to note RWAs have been consistently giving a feedback about BRPL and BYPL. This clearly indicates the level of satisfaction in BSES areas is very high area”, said a company official. “BRPL and BYPL will continue to improve upon their services”, added the official.

Some of the citizen groups that were present in the 91st Bhagidari meeting at the Delhi Secretariat  included RWAs from Mayur Vihar 1, 2 and 3, Vigyan Lok, Shakarpur, Patparganj, Bhajanpura, Chand Bagh, Saraswati Kunj, Suraj Mal Vihar, New Rajdhani Enclave, Naveen Shahdara, West Jyoti Nagar, Bank Colony, Nand Nagari and Khajoori Khas among others.

The Bhagidari workshops are organised at periodic intervals by the Bhagidari Cell of the Delhi Government. They provide an ideal opportunity to the RWAs to interact with the representatives of the various civic agencies.

BRPL and BYPL, Delhi’s premier power distribution companies are committed to ensuring quality and reliable electricity supply to all their consumers.
