BSES to re-launch its neighbourhood Electrician training initiative

Under the aegis of its Safety First drive, BRPL and BYPL has re-launched its hugely successful initiative to train the neighbourhood electricians. The company started this initiative a few years ago to educate consumers on safe use of electricity when it trained over 500 mohalla electricians.

The initiative would be organized during the first fortnight of September and once again 500 neighbourhood electricians would be trained in camps by experts from the industry. These electricians would be given certificates.

BSES has been proactively educating its customers though Synergy – its bi-monthly / bi-lingual newsletter and through neighbourhood electrician trainings about the perils of faulty Internal Housing Wiring and how to use electricity safely. We desire our consumers to avail best services and at competitive rates by trained electricians,” said BYPL CEO Mr Ramesh Narayanan.

According to BRPL CEO Mr Gopal Saxena, “The very fact that we have been receiving many requests from RWA’s and other stakeholders, urging us to re-launch the electrician training program, shows the effectiveness and success of the programs conducted earlier.” To make the program a big success, BSES has proactively asked the RWA’s to nominate their colony electricians for these training camps.

The training session will be led by experts – both from BSES and the Industry. The training session includes an exhaustive inputs to enhance both Skills and Knowledge of electricians for the safety of all electrical goods and the consumers’ safety as well. It will also include power point presentation that seeks to give a holistic training to educate and train the neighbourhood electricians on various issues relating to internal house wiring, prevention of short circuits and electrical fires, importance of installing Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers (ELCB’s), and its various functions. In addition, the training session will also serve as a refresher course for those trained earlier and share their field-level real-life experiences with those attending the program for the first time.

This time round the electricians training will also have ENERGY Accounting modules and they will also be advised on how to determine how much energy appliances are consuming so that customers can also become more aware of their energy guzzling equipments - microwaves, ACs, geysers, heaters etc.

BRPL and BYPL, Delhi’s premier power distribution companies are committed to ensuring quality and reliable electricity supply to all their consumers.
