Power Minister inaugurates BSES’

Shastri Park Grid Sub station

Power Minister Mr. Haroon Yusuf, on August 17, 2005, formally inaugurated the newly installed BSES’ 66 KV grid sub station at Shastri Park at a well attended function.  

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the area MLAs – Ch Matin Ahmed and Mr Bhisham Sharma and area Councillors – Mr Jameer Ahmed Munna, Mr Shirish Tiwari and Ms Razia Sultana.   Others present at the occasion were senior government officials, BSES CEO Mr Rakesh Aggarwal, BYPL COO Mr Yash Mehra and senior company officials.  

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony Mr. Haroon Yusuf said that the new grid sub station will help in alleviating the power woes of the local residents.   Consumers can now look forward to better quality power supply.

BSES CEO Mr Rakesh Aggarwal said, “BSES hopes to provide consistent and reliable power to the residents of the area.   The company has spent over Rs 14 crores to install technologically superior equipments.”  

The state-of-the-art grid comprises of two 50MVA capacity sub stations, 66/33 KV power transformers and two 20 MVA transformers.   Seven 66 KV bays, nine 33KV bays and 11KV 15 panel boards have also been installed.   All these installations will help ensure better power supply.   All equipments installed are SCADA compatible and soon the grid station will be operated remotely.  

According to BSES COO Mr Yash Mehra, “The Shastri Park grid sub station will help ease the water problems of the local residents as it will provide power to Delhi Jal Board’s water pumping station at Gautam Puri.”  

The grid will benefit consumers in Shastri Park, Jagjit Nagar, Gautam Puri, Brahmpuri, Kaithwara, Gandhi Nagar and Village Usmanpur.
