BSES dedicates the Rs 15 crore (66/33/11 KV) Jasola Grid Station to South Delhi Consumers
The state-of-the-art Jasola Grid station was inaugurated, in a simple but impressive ceremony by Shri Haroon Yusuf, Hon’ble Minister for Power and Transport today. Those present on the occasion included Shri Sajjan Kumar, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Hon’ble MLA Shri Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Shri Hem Chand Goel, MCD Councilor, senior government and BSES officials.
The Dual Ratio Transformation Capacity (66/33 kV as well as 66/11 kV) 140 MVA Grid station has been built at a cost of over Rs 15 crore, keeping in mind the present and future requirements of Jasola – the fast developing hub and soon to be the home to many posh apartments, shopping malls and office complexes and surrounding areas.
Complementing BSES for commissioning the Jasola Grid station, Shri Haroon Yusuf the Hon’ble Power and Transport Minister, Government of GoNCTD said “This grid will fulfill demands of the residents and commercial establishments of this fast developing hub. We are confident that BSES will continue to be an equal partner in the future development of the area”
The commissioning of the Grid, which besides ensuring stable power supply to around one lakh residents of South Delhi areas including parts of Sarita Vihar, New Friends Colony, Sukhdev Vihar, Zakir Nagar, CSIR staff quarters and Jasola, will also benefit important establishments including Escorts Heart Institute, Jamia Milia University Campus and Delhi Jal Board (DJB) Pumping station at Jasola among others.
“Improved power supply to the DJB Pumping station at Jasola and the Water Sewage Filtration Plant, Okhla, will also go a long way in reducing the water problems of the area”, said a BSES official.
Speaking on the occasion, Lalit Jalan, CEO BSES and Director Reliance Energy said “Apart from being among the ten largest grids in BSES licensed area in Delhi, this grid is unique because in case of a failure in the main feed, it is capable of providing backfeed to the existing grids in Sarai Julena and Jamia
According to a BSES spokesperson “In its endeavor to bring Delhi on par with the leading cities of the World in the field of distribution technology, BSES is deploying world class and state-of-the-art technologies. This high-tech Grid Station, spread over 5 acres, incorporates some of the latest advancements in distribution technology. This grid too, like the one recently inaugurated in Paschim Vihar is SCADA compatible. When implemented, the Grid can be remotely operated from the Central Control Room at Balaji Estate, leading to faster resolution of breakdowns and complaints
