Delhi creates History – Peak Demand touches 4408 MW

BSES supplied a record 2940 MW – sourcing 530 MW of ADDITIONAL power

Demand rises by a whopping 5.4% in the last fortnight

 

Last fortnight witnessed Delhi create a new record in power consumption – almost every alternate day. The National Capital, once again created history today, when its electricity demand of 4404 MW was successfully met at 4:16 pm. BSES, the city’s premier power distribution company, also supplied a record 2940 MW to its consumers - the highest ever so far.

 

For the record, Delhi’s peak power demand has steadily increased by a whopping 5.4%in the last fortnight.

It is pertinent to mention that Delhi’s per capita electricity consumption of 1265 Units /annum, is more than double of the national average of 606 units/ annum

  • HPSEB                                    165 MW
  • Nav Bharat (Through RETL)     80 MW
  • Power Exchange                       135 MW
  • UPCL                                      75MW
  • PTC                                         50 MW
  • Lanco                                       25 MW
