BSES sources 170 MW from Karnataka and Sikkim today

 

July 1, was yet another normal ‘power’ day for Delhi. The peak demand of 3869 MW at 12.52 pm was successfully met by Delhi discoms.

 

  • There was no reported incidence of outages on account of load shedding in BSES area.
  • There were negligible number of complaints on account of Low Frequency, Planned Shutdowns and some Local Faults

 

In the wake of unprecedented power situation, BSES is leaving no stone unturned for arranging additional electricity – whatever be the cost. Today BSES purchased/ received 358 MW of ADDITIONAL power to successfully meet the power demand of around 2555 MW in its licensed area. Details of power purchased today.

 

  • 100 MW from Karnataka (GMR’s Captive Unit) at Rs 6.70 / Unit
  • 70 MW from Sikkim (Through Adani) at Rs 6.26/Unit
  • 38 MW of power Banked earlier with Mumbai
  • 50 MW through Power Exchange at Rs 8/ Unit (This was available for only 3 hours)
  • 100 MW of Banked Power from Uattarakhand started flowing from today

 

Yesterday, Delhi’s peak power demand at 4:04 pm was 4337 MW, its highest ever. This had made Delhi the 2nd highest power consuming state, after Uttar Pradesh (around 7000 MW), in North India.
