How do I apply for New Connection?

To apply for a new connection you need to visit your nearest Divisional / Sub Divisional office, where you would be required to fill up the requisition form for new connection. Click here to download the application form for new connection.

Please carry a copy of following documents such as:

Ownership sale agreement
Election ID
Ration card
Latest monthly maintenance receipt of registered society
Copy of Passport
Passport size photographs
Possession / Allotment Letter (Government Premises)
Land Lord's No Objection Certificate (in case of tenant)




No objection certificate from other owners if applicant is joint owner of the property. Information required in addition to the above are:

Test Report verified by Government authorized electrical contractor stating details of the connected load of electrical appliances present in your premises.
What is the cost of Application form?

The requisition form is available free of cost.

What do I have to do after submitting my form?

After submission of requisition form you will get acknowledgement slip mentioning details of the date of submission of new connection application form and a unique Application number.

Thereafter an Electrical Engineer will visit your premises to verify the details you have submitted; of the load connected and the dues existing at your site. Based on his verification, your Application will be accepted or rejected. If the Connection is sanctioned a demand note will be raised and you will need to deposit the requiste amount at the BSES office.

Within 7 days of payment of the demand note by you, your connection will be energized.

What is the procedure and condition required for obtaining 3-phase connection?

You may directly approach our Customer Help Desk at the Divisional/Sub Divisional Office. A Three Phase Connection at a Domestic/Commercial/Industrial should have a minimum load of 11 KW. All the formalilities will remain same as that of a Single Phase Connection as specified in Question Number 1.

Is it mandatory to apply through Electrical Contractor?

It is mandatory to apply for New Connection through the Electrical Contractor because the electrical wiring of your premises has to be in perfect condition. Since a consumer cannot verify or authenticate the status of the wiring at his/her premises, so he/she has to authenticate the same from an Electrical Contractor specified by the Government of Delhi.

Formalities involved in replacement of Burnt Meter at Premises:

A Consumer has to approach the Divisional/ Sub Divisional Office with a copy of his/her latest paid Electricity Bill. Charges will be based on the age of the meter.

If the meter is less than two years old: 100% cost will be borne by consumer

Two-Five years: 75% cost to be borne by consumer

Five-Eight years: 50 % cost to be borne by consumer

Eight-Ten years: 25 % cost to be borne by consumer

Formalities involved in replacement of Defective Meter at Premises:

A Consumer has to approach the Divisional/ Sub Divisional Office with a copy of his/her latest paid Electricity Bill. No fee will be charged from the Consumer, once the meter is declared defective by the Field Engineer.

 
Formalities involved in Testing of Meter at Premises:

A Consumer has to approach the Divisional/ Sub Divisional Office with a copy of his/her latest paid Electricity Bill. Following will be the testing fee based on the type of the meter:

Single Phase Meter: Rs. 50/-

Three Phase/ CT Meter: Rs. 100/-More Ten years: Free of Cost
