The process for replacement of old, faulty, defective, inaccurate and incorrect range meters with accurate meters is as follows:
A team of Engineers who are well conversant with meter technology and the replacement process will contact the consumer/consumer representative to brief them about the process.
On the mutually agreed date a team will come to test the consumer's old meter and provide the report about the further usability of the existing meter.
Additionally work related to the bus-bar and service line will be noted.
After testing, if a meter change is required, the meter will be replaced by a BSES stock meter. In case the consumer is not satisfied with BSES meter testing:
He can get his meter tested by BSES.
He can get his meter tested by CPRI
He can check the meter performance by installing another "check meter " which is of a similar type. He can also opt to install his own procured meter of BSES specifications and approved make, the same will be installed within three days of submission for testing in BSES lab. Addresses of approved make, specifications and BSES labs are available on the links below. Consumer shall ensure correct make and specification of meter. For any enquiry related to choice meter consumer can visit our Division Office or approved vendors.
In case the consumer is not satisfied with the test result a "Checked" meter will be installed to compare the performance of old existing meter. After testing with "Checked " meter if the old meter is found faulty, the consumer's bill for last six month will be corrected as per the error and the meter will be replaced as per Para 3 above.
The Meter Management team will change the meter on the given scheduled date. All meters will be replaced under the supervision of BSES employee.
Kindly note the following points:
Please ensure the person visiting your area has proper ID-Card.
Please ensure that after replacement of meter you have received.
Meter Change Report [MCR]. Sign the report after checking data of MCR.
Kindly note and take appropriate action on electrical wiring. problem as intimated by BSES team. You may contact the electricians trained by BSES to check the in-house wiring.
